My sunshine

He's compassionate. He's a devout Catholic (more than me for sure). He loves music and math. He well mannered. He's polite (the kind that opens the door for the elderly and women he doesn't even know). He's well versed. He loves to read. He's obedient. He has taken a vow of abstinence until marriage. He loves his sisters (though his sisters are not too fond of him). He's very intelligent. He has high expectations of himself. He doesn't like to quit. He wants to be a Pediatric Cardiologist. He's my son Christopher. My pride and joy. My sunshine...

SPECS: Kitchen window light (natural light?), 18-55mm lens. Black backdrop in "P" mode (couldn't have him sitting for too long since he doesn't like pictures). Picture taken back in summer and PS'd to darken the backdrop. If you pay attention you can see the edges look soft/glowie? This is more obvious in the saxophone shot. That's because I didn't know how to make just the backdrop darker then (I'm not sure I know now either...) TFL!

This is so open and honest! I really enjoyed reading about him and especially like the part he opens doors for the elderly! That is a LOST art, one I hope comes back:) Please tell him thank you from my DH and I.

I love what you have told us about your son. He sounds like a dream child. You are raising him well. Great capture. He looks as peaceful as you describe him.

Both beautiful shots, especially knowing his story...

Thank you for sharing about your son. He sounds like an amazing young man. And as the mom of a 16-year-old that also opens doors for others, I love reading that part!

Very nice photos... it's a shame he doesn't like being photographed more. He's a great subject!

I hope my son is as sweet as yours when he is a teenager. I love these shots, and I kind of like the glow-y look!

Uhmmm, is he married? and if not, I'm available!(...pssst, don't tell my husband!...)

I hope to raise a son into a man that I'm proud of too! You and your hubby did something right and you both should be extremely proud.

You have a handsome boy and an awesome photo. Well done and I love the conversion.

I always love your post.
