No sports today :(

well....i didn't go to the soccer game last night...it was freezing (about 45 degrees) and i wasn't about to take my butt out there, nor my girls...of course dh, being the soccer fanatic that he is went...it figures...having the top 2 soccer teams in the state competing vs each other (5A level) does make for an interesting game...in the end, our high school (rivera) won 3-2 (including a penalty kick).. go raiders!

my attempt at a portrait with my new 50mm lens. not too thrilled with it though (the lens). it searches waaaay too much as compared to the 85mm. i should've waited and used that money for the 1.4. once again, live and learn...(the good thing is that it wasn't so much $$$ spent on this lens).

SPECS: 50mm 1.8 lens, AV Mode @ f/2.8, ISO 100,
PP: Resized (12x12 @ 250 dpi). Nothing else...the color pop i used wasn't working ...arghhh, i need to play with them some more. i did try b&w but didn't like it either.
HHCC PLEEEEAASE!

Hey Cristina... Ok. My 6 weird things are up... :)

These are nice shots! I especially like the first one--the color is very rich. I like that! The focus seems to be stronger on her hat and hand instead of her eyes. Wish I could tell you how to fix that...

The other two are really nice, but I think they need a color boost or something. Maybe you can get that color pop to work and give them some ooomph. I like the tilt/angle/whatever you want to call it. The composition of all 3 is perfect. I also love their expressions. These girls are beautiful. TFS!

Sorry to hear about your 50 lens. My 1.4 searches more than the 85 sometimes, too. So far, I like my 85 better than it as well. But, much of my problems are user error! :( Still learning...Time will tell the tale, I guess.

these are very cute - your girls are beautiful. I would agree about the color boost. And thi is just nitpicky - but the last one, if you could clone out her gum maybe? I love the colors of your blog!

I like the composition on these, and the colors are nice, but just a bit "flat", KWIM?

I think a curves adjustment would help pop the colors a tad. I think they just need to be brightened up a bit. Which color "pop" did you try? If you've got PS, Indie's actions look like they would be amazing on these!

PS. I LOVE the hats! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!

What cute girls you have. I am just getting used to my 50mm--can't wait to get the 85mm this summer! It's hard to see where you focused on the pictures but they look soft. I try to focus on one eye and recompose. I need to really have a steady hand or they blur. The color looks like it could use a little boost too. I use curves a lot to lighten just a bit and add some contrast.

i think the gum is kind of fun and goes with her expression.

you could bump up the contrast---what color pop do you usually use??? trying to get my hands on different ones...

Their faces are so sweet. I think you did a great capture and I love the softness of their smiles!
